Located on the Isle of Skye, just at the ferry landing, Armadale Castle is a ruined country house. The former home of the MacDonalds, Armadale was first built around 1790. Fires destroyed most of the home and all that's left is a shell - walls, that the garden is now making home. The surrounding gardens are of the most interest. Lovely walking trails wind their way around the castle grounds and up onto the hills where one can take the view. Home now to the Clan Donald Centre which houses a wonderful cafe, this is a lovely stop.
