Majestic New Zealand
My wife and I visited New Zealand for our honeymoon in June 2012. It is by far the most majestic place in the world! No matter what direction you look, you will always find natural beauty.
We were fortunate to visit after they had their first snowfall; all the mountains were snow-capped. While the temperature was cold, it was not bitter by any means and New Zealanders do not stop any activities due to weather like the Americas. In fact, while we were on our way to Milford Sound we had to stop in the canyons until the avalanches started to subside. Instead of turning the bus around, they waited until the avalanches slowed down a bit and then they let our tour bus pass through... it was AWESOME to watch! Back in the US, they would've turned the bus around and we would've missed out. Our tour bus was a panoramic tour bus (the roof and sides were glass).
Aotearoa, which is the country's name given by the Maori meaning "Land of the Long White Cloud", was a fit choice considering the blue skies with beautiful long white clouds we saw everywhere.
Photos were taken from Queenstown, Te Anau, Mirror Lakes, Milford Sound, Rangitoto Volcano, Devonport, and Auckland, New Zealand
