Deep White Cover: The Best Thriller Reading for this Summer
The best reading for this summer is Deep White Cover. This book is the beginning of a projected crime thriller saga written by Joel W. Barrows about an undercover agent who works for a Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms (ATF).
This ATF agent's mission is to deactivate an extremist anti-immigrant group which threatens the national security. The federal undercover operation that is the heart of Barrows' story makes sense for the readers because it gets them close to the hazy side of the law enforcement.
Deep White Cover, the Barrow's debut novel, is based on true events. So, from the first sentence, the readers become part of the story. The readers are silent witnesses of how the characters acquire actual faces, those that may resemble any of these guys whose life usually ends hidden, lost in the pages of newspapers.
The narration in Deep White Cover runs over harsh life paths. The law enforcers and the criminals have striking, even painful personal and calling stories. Getting inside these stories and their characters is one of the more touching values of this great and electrifying book.
The author, Joel W. Barrows, is an Iowa district court judge that understands the know-how of the law enforcement tasks in America. So, Barrows captures splendidly in his book some amazing secrets of the institutional endeavor against crime.
The book comes about the ongoing public debate about immigration issues, as well as other hot national topics, like drugs and guns illegal traffic or the emergence of supremacists groups in the southern border. The scenes and the dialogues in this story are well developed, leading the readers to an impressive suspense ambiance.
Deep White Cover by Joel W. Barrows is a must read for the lovers of thriller novels, but also for news junkies. Furthermore, everyone will be looking forward to the next book in the series.
