This iReport is part of an assignment:
More than a Celebrity...
When our beloved celebrities die; contrary to what some may believe we mourn for them as though they were members of our own families. Yes we are at times star struck if we are so lucky to meet you in person, but just know for most of us it is more than that. You matter to us. Your wellbeing matters to us. If sucess matters to us. And when you are not doing well... it matters to us. When one of our beloved celebrities dies suddenly, it is not merely you are gone. Our hearts breaks just like those who truly know you. You death sudden or otherwise is heartbreaking because we too have to come to the realization that you will no longer be here in the physical sense. Robin Williams was that kind of family member. I am a 49 year old black woman, and yes I loved me some Robin Williams.
I grew up with Robin. I prayed for Robin Williams just like I prayed for members of my family. "God, protect him, and give in strength. Wrap your loving arms around him, and help him tocconquer all that pains him, or that has him trapped in his addiction." Unfortunately, if reports are true, Robin's battles were larger, and not easy to overcome, but I am confident that God has him now, and wherever he is, he is safe, at peace, and has no more battles to fight. I will miss him. I will mourn for him. And although Robin has died, I will forever think fondly of him because he his family. I will pray for his family as they mourn the lost of their beloved Father, Husband, Son, and Friend. Robin Williams was more than a comedian and actor... he was family. RIP Robin. You will be forever missed.
