    Losing my Idol

In a word to describe Robin's impact on my life "fatherly". Like so many boy's in broken homes, no male role models, we search for a hero. Robin was that for me. His witty comebacks, his warm demeener and ability to inspire gave this boy a father figure.

I met robin on the set of "Patch Adams", it was life changing. His big laugh welcomed all the children on set. His expressions and characters captivated us like the pied piper. When I took my chance to meet him, I looked him in the eyes, smiled and shook his hand, he told me " hey there sport, you're doing a great job". That was the first time I cried in public.

After many years later still I hold that moment near and dear. As the owner of a Children's Theater Company many people relate my personality to Robin Williams, Jim Carry and many of the 90's comedians. I owe so much to the man we lost and will hold him in my heart forever. Thank you Robin, RIP.
