Peaceful night of protests after police leadership change (4/4)

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     Photographer Chris Renteria has been observing and photographing the Ferguson, Missouri, protests since Monday. He lives in the nearby suburb of University City. He photographed protesting on the evening of August 14, which took place outside the Ferguson convenient store that was torched earlier in the week during demonstrations. He says the mood Thursday evenings was vastly different from previous protests. "There was a strong civic connection. It felt like a World Series Parade. People seemed excited to be involved," he said. "It was like people were expressing themselves."
    - zdan, CNN iReport producer

With little incident Ferguson, Missouri saw peaceful protests carry until the early morning hours. This protest was in stark contrast to last nights Ferguson / Saint Louis County police debacle.

Today Governor Jay Nixon announced The Missouri Highway Patrol would be taking over under the careful guidance of Captain Ron Johnson. At one point Captain Johnson and some of his Troopers were seen marching through the streets with the protesters.
