Adoption Network Law Center Celebrates National Adoption Month
The first family to receive Adoption Network Law Center's pro bono services were David and Melissa of Tennessee. David and Melissa were high school sweethearts, married for 19 years and had been on their adoption journey for four years prior to partnering with Adoption Network Law Center. Over the course of four years, they had experienced the heartbreak of several disrupted adoptions.
The day before Thanksgiving 2012, David and Melissa received the call that welcomed them to the Adoption Network Law Center Family and thus began the next step of their adoption journey. In March 2013, David and Melissa received another call from Adoption Network Law Center, this time about an adoption opportunity of a little boy who had just been born. They were thrilled to welcome their long awaited baby into their family.
As David and Melissa review their adoption journey, they remembered how heartbreaking it had been to experience multiple adoption disruptions over four years. However, they realized that every one of the adoption opportunities that had disrupted had been with a baby girl. Now, David and Melissa understand that their adoption journey was meant to be completed with the birth of their son, Brian. In July 2013, David, Melissa and their son Brian officially became a forever family with the finalization of their adoption.
In June 2014, Adoption Network Law Center flew David, Melissa and Brian out to California for the week to meet them in person for the very first time. David, Melissa and Brian enjoyed their first trip to California, which included a day at the Adoption Network Law Center Annual Family Picnic with approximately 400 other attendees.
The recipients of Adoption Network Law Center's pro bono services in honor of National Adoption Month 2013, Toby and Stephanie, now have live profiles on Adoption Network Law Center and its partner websites and are waiting to be selected by a Birth Mother. Adoption Network Law Center intends to continue its tradition of pro bono services for one hopeful Adopting Family in honor of National Adoption Month for many years to come.
