Travel photo of the day
The celebration Ceremony of 68th Independence day of India in Arabian sea.
I am a freelance photographer and travel-story writer. On 15th August,2014, I went to Porbandar City to visit Mahatma Gandhi's birth place and enjoying an unique flag hoisting ceremony. This year is India's 68th independence celebrated all over India on 15th August in various ways. This day is National holiday and people are enjoying the independence day. The Flag hoisting is the main and very important event on this day. Porbandar is a small city in Gujarat on the west coast of Arabian sea in India. This place is famous for the birth place of Mahatma Gandhi, the father of the nation. There is a swimming club named 'Sea swimming club of Porbandar', are hoisting flag in the seawater and celebrating Independence day with much enthusiasm and active participation. I have witnessed first time such event like flag hoisting in the sea. I think it is an unique event,so I want to share this photo(taken by me) and news .
