The Old Course - St. Andrews

During a two week visit to the U.K. my wife and I shelved any golfing plans, however we could not leave Scotland without visiting the "home of golf", The Old Course at St. Andrews.

This photo shows the view approaching the 18th green, with Hamilton Hall (right) and the St. Andrews Clubhouse (left). An extra surprise during our visit was discovering that President Bill Clinton was enjoying a round of golf. He was very gracious, signing autographs and shaking the hands of many well-wishers as he made his way along the edge of the 18th fairway. By the time he reached the 18th green a gallery of more than 100 people had assembled to watch him finish.
