    Protests around the world

    More from SaadiaKhan

PTI & PAT [Sit Stand March] A Revolution

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     SaadiaKhan witnessed this protest in her home of Islamabad, Pakistan: 'The people gathered at the PAT camp were extremely calm with an air of foreboding. Prepared with gas masks sticks and goggles if things were to flare in to a confrontation with the police as has happened in Lahore previously. The PTI camp was completely different - loud music, people dancing - somewhat of a carnival atmosphere.'
    - hhanks, CNN iReport producer

Pakistan Awami Tehreek lead by Dr. Tahir ul Qadir and Pakistan Tehreek Insaf lead by Imran Khan endeavour to have the current elected government removed from power in Pakistan.

Both parties have successfully lead hundreds and thousands of their party members and supporters to Islamabad for a sit-in. Despite road blocks an attack en route on the PTI march and the weather not being so favorable. Rain persisted for two consecutive nights.

Qadri has been present throughout the sit-in in his custom made bomb proof container which was used in his previous long march. It has amenities such as air-conditioning and a caravan style attached bathroom. Imran Khan on the other hand has been heading back to his residence in Bani-Gala [Islamabad] from time to time. He has received some criticism for this from the national press and supporters.

There is a stark contrast between the two camps. PAT supporters are calm but determined, mostly waiting in anticipation for their leaders speeches of which there have been many. The PTI camp has a very festive almost carnival atmosphere to it. There is loud music audible from afar, dancing on the streets and a lot of movement. People walking about.
