    Salvation Mountain

This was my first time at this place and it did not disappoint. I came here earlier in the day to check it out not even thinking of capturing the stars because it was really cloudy that day. I’m so glad I did come back later that evening. I had the Mountain all to myself along with the caretaker who watches over it. I really think I was fortunate to capture something magical.

Leonard Knight dedicated 27 years of his life creating this work of art until he passed away earlier this year in February. He lived in the back of a truck with no running water or electricity. I don’t think you have to be religious at all to get the message of love. I dedicated this image in memory of Mr. Knight.

There are 10 images taken at 30 sec exposures, F/2.8, at ISO 3200 stitched together in photo shop to create this pano over Salvation Mountain. The lights that you see in the background are from the town of El Centro, Ca
Salvation Mountain is located near the town of Niland just 2 miles east of hwy111 along the Salton Sea. I encourage all to come and visit this special place.
