Interstate 17 flooded in Phoenix, August 19, 2014

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     Two to three feet of rapidly rushing water flooded patches of road along Phoenix, Arizona's interstate 17 on August 19. GoodSmack says the flooding came after severe weather and heavy rain swept through the area. To navigate through the floodwaters, he had to drive slowly along the highway. "It took about 15 minutes to get through the water. Normally, traffic is moving along at 65 to 75 miles per hour at this point on the highway," he said.
    - Jareen, CNN iReport producer

I was driving home yesterday morning, north bound on Interstate 17. All of the traffic was suddenly merging into the center shoulder because of a flash flood on the Interstate.
