This iReport is part of an assignment:
Black Lives Matter protests (2014)
America needs a new dialogue..
The killing of any unarmed man is wrong, regardless of skin color. But the fact (and it is a fact) that it is happening disproportionately to men of color is alarming. But the real question is why. Is it racism or is racism symptomatic of a larger issue in our country/history?Regardless of the why, we can't begin to address that question until we as a nation agree that the "what" (the disproportionate killing, and subsequent justification, of black men) exists in our society. It's ugly, but truth so often is.
