Protests around the world
Protests Continue in West Bank
- Jareen, CNN iReport producer
Protesters hold weekly demonstrations every Friday in Bil’in to show their frustration with the Israeli wall built in 2004. They claim it was built on their land and want the wall removed and built further away.
Many attend the protests every week, which began in 2004. Some wave flags and wear gas masks or cloth around their faces.
The protestors are of all ages, religions, and nationalities, including protestors from the Netherlands, Germany, Spain, and even Israel.
Protests against the wall, settlements, and the war in Gaza are common across the West Bank and are usually suppressed with tear gas and rubber bullets.
