ALS Ice Bucket Challenge - Bi-Con Style
The president of Bi-Con Services, Inc., a company of roughly 300 employees in southeastern Ohio, was challenged to take part in the #alsicebucketchallenge. Denny, wanting to put a Bi-Con spin on things, decided to challenge his employees to make donations that Bi-Con would match. He set benchmarks to determine how much ice water he would be showered with. If we raised $5000, he would be doused with ice water from the largest container we could locate. The twist? The administrative assistants throughout the company were also being included. Within 24 hours, my coworkers dug deep in their pockets & we had already topped $9000! By the time we dumped the ice water (over 700 gallons from three backhoe buckets!), we had raised over $19,000! At the end of the day, we were able to donate $38,680 to fight ALS & other diseases that have affected Bi-Con employees. Not bad for 48 hours of fund raising!
If that doesn't deserve a little recognition, I don't know what does!
