Congressman Mike Thompson was in the area and surveyed the damage by walking throughout downtown Napa this morning.
Several buildings including the court building suffered structural damage.
There are reports of two mobile homes being destroyed by earthquake related fire.
Firemen arrived at the fire scene but water pipe lines were broken and could not access water to abate the fire.
No casualties are reported yet and city and government officials are still assessing the damages.
Governor Brown declared the area a state of emergency.
Many businesses suffered shuttered glass and many of their owners were already doing clean up work.
The rest of the area is out and about doing business as usual.
