This iReport is part of an assignment:
    Kids breaking gender norms

    Pretty in Pink

Our son has had an affinity for long hair, gorgeous gowns and sequined sparkles since his second birthday. He moves with the grace of a dancer, creates and designs with the eyes of an artist, and loves life to his heart's fullest capacity. He is feisty and funny, compassionate and competitive, and sassy and smart. We couldn't and wouldn't ask him to be anything other than who he is. He is destined for greatness because he is great. He is strong and resilient and through his confidence, we too can be strong and confident parents. We will stand alongside him proud and certain even through the uncertainty of it all. Society often sees gender in pink and blue, but our son paints with a rainbow brush and the world is a more beautiful place for it.
