    Guns and children

    'We practice safety, safety, safety!'

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     "With millions of guns in our country the chances that a child will come across a gun is ever increasing," said Ray55Rivera. "You have to expose children at the proper age (9-10 earliest) to guns by not only bringing them to the range but also taking proper gun safety courses, which are done by the NRA, local sheriff's or police departments, showing them the reality of what can happen if guns are used irresponsibly and what to do if they inadvertently come across a gun while either visiting a friend's home or somewhere outside the home."

I have worked in law enforcement over 30 years and recently retired. My kids and grand kids have all been safety trained and I have taken them all to the range. I have never started them off with a Uzi... A good weapon is a .22 caliber with serious supervision training and coaching. In this photo I have my 9 year old grand daughter shooting a .22 caliber Ruger.... We practice safety safety safety!!!!!
