Protests around the world
Justice for Dillon Taylor Rally
After Police allegedly shot and killed a 20 year old man named Dillon Taylor for wearing head phones, the horrible tragedy of his death is being covered up by his past criminal record. Taylor allegedly did not respond to an officers instructions because he was wearing head phones and may not have heard their commands. This campaign to lessen his credibility highlighted his criminal background, but lessened the accountability of the shooting officer. This police initiated shooting has fallen into the shadows of Ferguson and deserves some attention. This tragic event brings to light increasing claims of abuse of power by law enforcement agencies. Taylor is a small example of those cases where excessive police brutality cost a young man his life. Today’s protest in Ogden, UT highlighted another peaceful event of citizens in Utah protesting excessive force by law enforcement agencies nationwide.
