Back in time: civil war re-enactment

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     FranciscoLozano enjoyed this two-day event in Garden Valley, Idaho because he got to experience what the Civil War was like firsthand, instead of just in a book or film.
    - hhanks, CNN iReport producer

The river through time is a civil war re-enactment going on this Saturday and Sunday October 4 and 5. This is a free annual event sponsored by the Gem County Historical Society taking place in Emmett, Idaho and it celebrates the people who settled the Payette river between 1859 and 1946.
Felicia Wilbur from Boise was wearing a green dress dating to that historic time and umbrella. She was accompanied by Deborah Byrd who was wearing a white costume and white umbrella and trading for furs with 'Smokey" Dave Myers from New Plymouth.

McKenzie Sheldon and Kathleen Derig were preparing beef stew outside their covered wagon and were handing out tasty samples.
