    The Berlin Wall

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     iReporter cinders23 from Franklin, Wisconsin, visited Berlin in 2005 with her family on a trip to see her daughter who was studying in Wittenberg at the time. "I was truly moved standing next to and touching what was left of the Berlin Wall," she says. "I had seen many black & white photos of the Wall growing up, especially heartbreaking photos of people being shot trying to go over it to see family. I couldn't believe I was there."
    - Milena7, CNN iReport producer

In 2005 our daughter studied abroad in Germany and we went to visit her and see the country she fell in love with. One of the things that really struck me was the Berlin Wall and everything it represented. Division and mistrust, even hate. I am glad it is down. The white squares in the third photo ring the city and show where the wall was. Seeing the city I had only seen in black & white photos was incredible.
