NYCC Imparts the Spirit of the Superhero

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     JDAlady is a New York Comic Con veteran and noticed that this year was larger in scale with longer lines. She was also impressed with Adam West, calling him 'an absolute sweetheart with a delightful sense of humor.'
    - hhanks, CNN iReport producer

The appeal and essence of a comic book hero is simply infectious. There is a sense of simple joy from the rescue of their superhero stories. The inspiration and influence of the actors that bring these characters to life are a tremendous contribution to a metropolis world in need of a reassuring bat signal.

Adam West has been a much loved figure on screen and in voice. Whether he is an iteration of Batman or Mayor Adam West in Family Guy, he radiates a warm and compassionate level of charm. Adam’s long time fans will be happy on the release date of November 11, 2014 for the Warner Bros DVD/Blu-ray collection of the classic ’60s TV series. Also, to be released is Lego Batman 3: Beyond Gotham, a Lego action-adventure video game. This will be available in Europe on November 14 and in America on November 11. Adam West is Classic Batman and Stephen Amell is the voice of the Green Arrow in Lego Batman 3.

At NYCC, Adam answered questions regarding the Batcopter and The Lego Movie as well as inquiries submitted via Facebook about his Batman television series. For action heroes, the production can be harrowing “…it was on a pile of mattress. Thank God for mattresses!”

Also on scene, at NY ComicCon, were versions of dynamic duos. With great parenting from How to Train Your Dragon to a pair of the Mario Brothers, there are always tag teams to be spotted on the convention floor.

Exhibitors such as  Rooster Teeth Productions drew lines for signings of posters and drawings of their animated web series RWBY (pronounced as Ruby). One particular large line amassed fans of Manu Bennett, who has portrayed memorable characters in Spartacus, Arrow and The Hobbit. Other headliner guests of NYComicCon are Arthur Darvill (Doctor Who), Ed Norton and Michael Keaton (Birdman), Patrick Stewart and William Shatner.

NYCC is filled with multi dimensional floors of hero euphoria.
