    Kobane Protest istanbul


    CNN PRODUCER NOTE     One hundred people gathered in Taksim Square in Istanbul, Turkey, on October 10 to demonstrate against the government’s lack of support in fighting ISIS in Syria. But demonstrations were halted by the Turkish police. gorkemkeser, who has been documenting the ongoing unrest in Turkey for months, photographed the confrontation. He says Turkey’s Kurds have reacted angrily to the government’s refusal to send military reinforcement to besieged Kurdish fighters battling ISIS in Kobane, a town in Aleppo, Syria.

    Halk Cephesi (Peoples' Front) gathered in Sisli solidarity with the people of Kobane. They marched against ISIS and the policies of the Turkish government. Police used tear gas and arrested some of the protestors violently, on October 10, 2014 in istanbul. Past three weeks a kurdish city in north Syria;Kobane was under ISIS siege. After the news that ISIS militans enter the city and clashes came to downtown, hundreds of people exit to the streets in Turkey's big cities and protest goverment.
