    Artificial Sweeteners Make You Fat

Contrary to what you’ve been told, artificial sweeteners make you fat. Those sugar-free foods and diet sodas you’ve eaten may actually be making you fatter.

Mickey Barber, MD, an age management specialist from South Carolina says recent studies conclude she has been right about Artificial Sweeteners all along. For years Dr. Barber has told her patients to stay away from these chemical compounds because they could add unwanted, unhealthy weight. She explained her concerns to Mark Alyn, host of “Late Night Health” Radio.

While saying this does not happen with everyone, Dr. Barber pointed to evidence that these sugar substitutes make people crave more carbs. Carbs are just complex sugars. The more carbs a person consumes, the higher the chance of weight gain.

Dr. Barber asks all of her patients to stop using all artificial sweetening products. This includes those products you add to coffee and tea, as well as diet soft drinks. Doing this, many of her patients have lost of to 10 pounds!

Alyn noted that many people order ice cream sundaes, with extra fudge and extra whipping cream. They wash this down with a diet soda! It makes no sense notes Alyn, while Dr. Barber says people think they are saving sugar calories and can make the difference up with the added toppings.
