    face to face with the face in bayon

     

    CNN PRODUCER NOTE     Niranjan Jahagirdar and his now-wife, Joey Ray, took turns touching the noses of the statues at Bayon Temple in the ancient city of Angkor Thom, Cambodia, in 2011. Their tour guide suggested the poses.

    When my girlfriend (now wife) went to Cambodia, we found ourselves fascinated with the Bayon temple, with 216 faces of the king on temple domes, everywhere we looked. Our guide figured it'd be a good idea to really come face to face with these faces, or at least touch their noses. Eight inches of our heads align with 2-meter faces on the temple domes
