    Tampa's 24-Hour Food Drive


    CNN PRODUCER NOTE     The Metropolitan Ministries in Tampa, Florida, turned the holiday tradition of collecting canned foods into a challenge. On November 7, the Metropolitan Ministries and Feeding America received 566,600 pounds of donated food in 24 hours, setting a new world record of collecting the most donated food in 24 hours in the Guinness Book of World Records, Carol Lim reported. Lim says there were truckloads of food donated for the cause and local businesses participated in the event as well.

    Teen philanthropist Zachary Bonner and two non-profits are aiming to break the Guiness Book of World Records in food donations in 24 hours. The challenge started at Noon Friday, Nov. 7th and ends at Noon, Saturday. Nov. 8th. Carol LIm has more on the event in Tampa, Florida.
