    INVESTIGATORS SEEK PUBLIC’S ASSISTANCE IN MISSING ILLINOIS CASE
    PRESS RELEASE
    Fulton County law enforcement, We Help the Missing, and the family of Derick “Higgy” Higgins is seeking the public’s assistance in locating missing person Derick “Higgy” Higgins. Derick was 21 years old at the time of his disappearance and is now age 23. Derick was last seen on March 21, 2013 in Smithfield, IL. Derick is approximately 6’ tall, weighing approximately 160 pounds with blue eyes and brown hair.
    Las Vegas metropolitan Police Department made contact with Derick twice. Once on April 2014, his fingerprint were taken, and a second time in July. It took 8 months for Fulton to confirm the fingerprint, confirmation and match, and alerting the family. Despite the circumstances of his disappearance, no Investigation, nor effort were made from Fulton County Sheriff’s Office. Derick’s car found in Tallahassee Florida, 2 days later. Derick’s entire family is in Vegas right now. Searching for him. He is believed to still be in the Las Vegas area. Search and rescue are helping and were organizing a search today.
    We Help The Missing organization and law enforcement are asking for the media’s attention on Derick’s case as it is imperative to locate Derick to ensure his safe return. Please understand time is of the essence and we need your help to get this information in the eyes of the public.
    A missing poster including information of Derick “Higgy” Higgins will accompany this release.
