Colin Powell endorses Obama |
The Right Choice NOT the White (or Black or Blue) Choice
I find it incredibly insulting that some people have reduced Colin Powell's endorsement of Barack Obama down to the color of his skin. One word for that logic: PUH-LEEEZE!
Mr. Powell enumerated the same concerns that many Americans have voiced publicly and privately.
1.) McCain's smear tactics have turned Americans off
2.) McCain's VP choice was questionable at best
3.) During the debates, McCain focused more on Obama and less on how he'd improve America; McCain's overall demeanor exposed his seething anger under duress. A president can not respond out of anger; just as a child can not throw a fit when he does not get his way.
and if you really want to go there...
4.) WE as Americans are quietly terrified that if Senator McCain's sealed health records expose that he is less than healthy, Ms. Palin would be left to bear the burden of a position that she is not prepared to assume.
Mr. Powell's endorsement of Barack Obama is NOT about the color of his skin. Who cares Barack Obama's skin color. That's just like Chicagoans suggesting that they would have rather Michael Jordan been WHITE and not win the six NBA championships, than he be Black and bring that city and franchise to prominence as he did! What a crock of crap!!!
WE as Americans need a leader that will assemble a qualified team (i.e. Joe Biden, Warren Buffett, and yes Colin Powell, if he's willing) to help America get back on our feet. We're hurting right now; and frankly WE don't care if the president is purple. The question is: Can he lead America back to prominence? The answer is: YES HE CAN! Will he, time will tell. One thing's for sure, he's not afraid of "impossible" tasks.
Folks, it ain't about the WHITE choice, it's clearly about the RIGHT choice.
