Santa Claus with his reindeer in Finland

Santa Claus paid a visit to my home town, Kempele, nearly a year ago. His reindeer, Petteri, or Rudolf-The-Red-Nosed-Reindeer came along. Children from the neighbor school came to see Santa, Joulupukki, in Finnish. Most of them still think Santa is a real story. I believe in Santa, too, and wait for him at Christmas Eve with gifts.

There was time in my life, that I told a lot of fairy tales and did a lot of drawings especially at Christmas time, which brings so much joy, happiness, goodness, excitement, collaboration and inspiration. It also was a stressful time of a working mom with small children

As school I always told the children, that it is only my husband who has met Santa Claus at Korvatunturi. They never argued, since the story was so exiting. It still is. I still want to see children´s joyful faces when they meet Santa.

Christmas time is wonderful here in the Nordic countries with snow, darkness, arctic lights, cold and ice, not in our minds, but outside in the nature. Finland has named Rovaniemi as Santa Claus official town.

Santa is coming to all the children of the world at Christmas Eve. It is possible today, since there is so many technological applications for that trip.

I tell this with a firm conclusion as an educational technology student at Oulu University. With many exchange students from different countries from all over the world.
