Institute for Integrative Nutrition: Fixing the Global Health Crisis, one Health Coach at a Time

It’s no secret there is a global health crisis. Heart disease is the leading cause of death and this is the first time in history that children are likely to have a shorter life expectancy than their parents. Of the $2.3 trillion spent on healthcare, only 2% goes towards prevention.

While traditional healthcare providers and pharmaceutical companies continue to resolve these problems by pushing new drugs out by the dozen, there is a growing movement embracing a holistic approach with food and lifestyle as the new prescription of choice.

This movement is quickly spreading across the globe.

Leading the charge is Joshua Rosenthal, Founder of the Institute for Integrative Nutrition. For more than 20 years, Integrative Nutrition has been a pioneer in the movement towards preventative health care and stands out as the largest and fastest growing nutrition school in the world.

Integrative Nutrition’s course, the Health Coach Training Program, teaches students to launch meaningful new careers as Health Coaches. An integral part of an emerging preventative healthcare model, Health Coaches recognize that being healthy involves more than just proper diet. As such, health coaching also focuses on non-dietary aspects of a person’s life, in order to improve clients’ overall, holistic wellbeing.

The innovative practices of Health Coaches are going global thanks, in part, to the flexible online format of the IIN program. As a result, IIN has grown from a small classroom of passionate individuals into a global community of more than 56,000 students and graduates in 122 countries worldwide and they aren’t stopping there.

Over the last year, the IIN community has expanded far and wide with extensive growth in Australia and the UK, prompting the school to hire representatives in Sydney and Luxemburg to better serve their international population.

As of today, 28% of current students are now international -- further proof that Health Coaching is taking the world by storm.

Integrative Nutrition’s mission is to play a crucial role in improving health and happiness, and through that process, create a ripple effect that transforms the world. Which is why they support their students, graduates, and the greater community to push initiatives that promote health and wellness.

It’s an exciting time to be a part of this movement for better health. While the current stats show a bleak future – there is a ray of hope emanating from these passionate individuals, Health Coaches, who are working together around the world to change the industry and create healthier, happier futures for us all.
