    Police brutality protest San Francisco

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     dinalee went to this #blacklivesmatter protest in San Francisco, saying that similar issues have come up in the California Bay Area, so there was a lot of interest in the march there.
    - hhanks, CNN iReport producer

On Saturday December 13th, and in solidarity with actions occurring all over the US, a protest and march was held in San Francisco and was called Day of Anger: Millions March! Black Lives Matter. At least 20,000 people marched through the streets in San Francisco protesting and calling attention to police brutality amongst African Americans in the US. Some of the chants were "Hand's UP, Don't Shoot" and "Black Lives Matter." This protest basically shut down most of San Francisco's streets on a busy shopping day. Santa Con was also being held. The police had two orders protect Union Square and protect San Francisco City Hall.
Social Media hashtags included #blacklivesmatter #dayofanger
