Soul mate stories: How did you meet?

From ring bearer and flower girl to husband and wife after 45 years

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     In May 2014, what the couple likes to refer to as the "Divine Conspiracy" began.

I recently saw a story about a couple being married twenty years after being the ring bearer and flower girl in a wedding. The story was very interesting. Now, many of my friends, co-workers and family members suggested I write the story telling how my wife and I were reunited after forty-five years.
    So, here goes...........
In May 1969, Raymond K. Heiber (nephew of the groom) and Helen L. Klinger (youngest sister of the bride) walked down the aisle for the first time as Ring Bearer and Flower Girl in the wedding of Ronald R. Heiber and Charlotte A. Klinger.
As usually occurs following weddings and marriages, the families became closely tied with family gatherings, summer outings and mostly all family occasions.
Raymond and Helen who, incidentally were born in the same hospital and grew up about three miles from each other became childhood friends until their early teens. Shortly afterwards, as fate would have it, life took them their separate ways. Raymond joined the U.S. Navy, married and had a family, while Helen married and had a family of her own. Helen remained close with Raymond’s family throughout the years. Raymond's grandmother, Violet, thought the world of Helen and they would enjoy talking about things, including Raymond, as Helen would visit to help Violet with household chores. Violet passed in 2008.
As for Raymond and Helen, both of their marriages ended. Raymond's thirty year marriage ended with the untimely passing of his wife, while Helen's, after thirty-four years, ended in divorce.
Then, in May 2014, what the couple likes to refer to as the "Divine Conspiracy" began. Ron and Charlotte, now living in Las Vegas, travelled back to Pennsylvania to celebrate their forty-fifth wedding anniversary with family and friends. It may be interesting to note here that about three months prior to the trip, Helen mentioned to Charlotte that she had a dream about being the flower girl in the wedding.
Both Raymond and Helen believe the "matchmaking" began when Ron and Charlotte arrived in Pennsylvania. Thinking of Raymond and Helen with true love, they discussed with each other how both Raymond's and Helen's lives had been changed with the events that took place and suggested that Raymond give Helen a call just to talk and be friends.
Well, Raymond did call, they did talk, and they did become friends. Then came to the anniversary party and met once again. And, as they say, the rest is history.
Reunited after forty-five years, Raymond and Helen dated, fell in love and after dating for four months, walked down the aisle for the second time on September 14th 2014 to become husband and wife at Vegas Weddings in Las Vegas, NV. This time, the roles were reversed as Ron carried the rings and Charlotte carried the flowers.
Raymond and Helen both believe their relationship was created by God Himself and all of this is part of His plan.
The couple honeymooned in Honolulu, HI, and resides in Lititz, Pennsylvania.
