    Winter storm Juno

Finally, finally, winter is here. And the first blizzard of the year, too. That's right. Winter storm Juno.

So, I had to check it out, if only for a few moments. Outside it was cold, and windy. The wind started picking up by the time I reached Jersey City waterfront. Two joggers passed by me, only to to do it again, only a few moments later, in the opposite direction. One or two people were still on the street, grocery bags in hand, heading home, I guess.

What I found most fascinating was the patterns created by the snowflakes in the wind. They would change direction flawlessly, zigzagging the air, as if weaving it with icy threads.

Ferries were still sailing up and down the Hudson, while across the river, shadowy silhouettes of buildings and a few lights loosely sketched out the silhouette of the Manhattan Island.

As I write this, Jersey City is a ghost town, alone, while the neighboring Manhattan is lost in its own darkness.
