South TX Animal Advocates outraged over GoDaddy Commercial

In a time where advertisers and PR professionals will do anything for "shares", "likes", and B2B/B2C dialogue, it seems as if we're becoming less savvy, and way too tacky. Go Daddy's ad that was released today mirrors tackiness at it's best. The superbowl ad "journey home" pokes fun at Budweiser's puppy commercials. Starting off with a truck full of puppies, one puppy is bumped off and left there to survive various weather conditions. The puppy then "heads home", only to be greeted by a breeder who has sold said puppy on "GoDaddy". The owner ships the puppy out in a van, and the commercial ends. This is devastating when you have 7 out of 10 house holds watching the annual event. What happened, America? What's the reason? Viewership. Ratings. Shares. More money. What happened to class and ethical grit? No wonder we are hardly ever taken seriously. As an animal advocate myself, and a co-founder of Tails & Trails RGV, a fundraising 5K for a South Texas animal shelter, I am appalled. For GoDaddy being such a large company, they sure have a small soul.
