    Campaign 2008

    More from BeantownGal

I hope we're in for a nice surprise on November 4th!!

Like most Americans, I've been following this election rather closely. I also live in one of the most predominantly democratic states in our nation- Massachusetts. I moved up here in 2004 to cast my vote for the Republican ticket, to make up the mere 33% (or close to thirty) that voted Republican in this state. No surprise there, but I was happy I played my role.

And so we find ourselves four years later, all ready to get out and vote again. I'm still in the "predominantly democratic" state. However, I think Mr. Obama may be in for a big surprise. For every ten or so McCain signs around here, I've seen one Obama sign. This isn't far fetched either.

Last week we went driving through Bridgewater, Abington, Whitman, Weymouth, and they all had numerous McCain/Palin signs. I put one up about a month back, and had to make a deal with my husband that if our house got an egg, we'd take it down. It blew apart the first day, we restapled it, and it has remained up since.

My neighbor just put up a nice 4x6 McCain sign on her house, and I had another neighbor stop and ask me where I got my sign. I was thrilled. Don't underestimate Massachusetts in this election. Mitt Romney was campaigning from here, (not that I ever really liked him), and he created a solid base of supporters.

Hillary won the primary here in 2008. And as much as I believe Barack Obama thinks he has those votes leaning towards him, he could be wrong. But if these election signs have any indication of how the people of MA will be voting, I've seen a lot more for McCain and Palin!
