Don Barnhart Comedy Tour Gets Stuck In Jordan While On Tour For The Troops.

Despite ongoing conflicts and fighting in the Middle East, The Don Barnhart Comedy All Stars got stuck in Jordan while on tour for the troops in the Mediterranean.

The tour included stops Malta, Italy, Greece, Cyrpus, Israel and Egypt and being so close to Jordan, the group of comedians took their one day of to visit the holy sites but got stuck there when the brutal murder of the Jordanian pilot took place.

Due to security concerns the group canceled their sightseeing plans and chose to meet and spend time with the Jordanians in a show of support and solidarity.

"Seeing the pain our friends in Jordan we're dealing with was heartbreaking", said Barnhart. "We cancelled our vacation plans and met with members of the Jordanian military to share our thoughts and condolences and held a prayer circle and moment of silence to show our commitment and solidarity with our allies."

"The goal is to bring a piece of home and laughter our troops stationed overseas and we just happened to be in the wrong place at the right time", added the award winning comedian. Don continued, "Our countries are all in the fight to stop the evil of ISIS and we tried to share with our friends in Jordan how much we were with them and to see their commitment and dedication to stopping this horrendous evil gives us a great sense of hope."

The Jordanians went out of their way to insure our safety and comfort and despite the current turmoil and ongoing conflicts, The Don Barnhart Comedy All Stars rallied together to finish the tour bringing their comedy shows to the men and women serving in the military overseas.

“If Bob Hope can do it, then so can we,” said Don Barnhart. “It’s important to let the men and women serving in the Armed Forces know that they are appreciated and not forgotten”. Barnhart added, “We’ve been to war zones and if anyone needs to laugh, it’s the men and women putting their life on the line on a daily basis”.

As for the producer, Don Barnhart stars in the documentary, Finding The Funny with Brad Garret and Louie Anderson and is currently in preproduction on the new comedy film, The Freeloader, which he wrote and stars in. The movie is inspired by his numerous tours for the troops and is the story of a returning Veteran who becomes the Robin Hood of The Homeless.

The Las Vegas Review/Journal named Barnhart’s show one of their “Best Bets” and he just finished headlining the 2014 Laughlin Comedy Festival alongside Larry The Cable Guy, Dana Carvey and Maryellen Hooper. Don is the author of two books, Comedy 101 and Creating The Life You Desire. He is also a contributing author on I Killed: True Stories of The Road by America’s Top Comics.

The comedians on the Don Barnhart Comedy All Star Tour include Paul Ogata, Danny Villalpando and Michael Finney. Paul Ogata was the winner of the prestigious San Francisco International Comedy Competition. His 2007 victory propelled him to appearances on Comedy Central, CBS’s The Late Late Show, Comics Unleashed and the groundbreaking Showtime network presentation of “Pacific Rim Comedy” and Paul just shot his new comedy special.

Danny Villalpando has been performing for the troops for years in between headlining the top comedy clubs across the United States and has been seen on NBC’s Friday Night, CBS’s Funny Is Funny, The Latino Laugh Festival and Comedy Central. He’s also a graduate of the world famous Second City Conservatory in Los Angeles and is a regular on all the comedy channels on XM/Sirius Satellite Radio.

Michael Finney is a double threat as both comedian and magician. In 2009 he was The World Comedy Magic Act of the Year and Finney has appeared on numerous TV shows including two NBC TV Specials: The World's Greatest Magic and The World's Wildest Magic. Michael has the distinct pleasure of being crowned The Academy of Magical Arts’ Comedy Magician of the year as well as Parlor Magician of the Year and if that weren’t enough, Finney was voted by his peers as one of the World's Top 10 Comedy Magic Acts performing today! He just appeared on two episodes of Masters of Illusions on the CW channel.

What Barnhart hopes to gain from entertaining the troops is the chance to meet as many people as possible, make them laugh a little and bring a taste of home and the Aloha spirit to the men and women serving in the armed forces. “I always look at comedy as a sort of pressure release valve,” says Barnhart. “It allows you let off a little steam and you can get through the day no matter how tough things may be.”

Barnhart has plans to shoot his comedy special, The DeEvolution of Man later this year and turn it into a one-man show with dates already coming in.
