Soul mate stories: How did you meet?

She was in print, he was in TV -- sometimes, opposites do attract

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     Nikki Ferrell was working in her first job as a newspaper reporter when she met TV photographer Eric Frisbee.

I was working in my first job as a print reporter for a small daily in Ohio, and was covering an apartment fire one hot September day. Fortunately, no one was hurt in the fire, but many people lost their homes.

Walking back to the parking lot with the photographer I was working with, I was feeling a little down - not to mention hot from the heat from both the sun and the huge blaze I had come from.

My colleague pointed out a TV photographer he knows and introduced us.

"It must be pretty hot down there," the TV photographer remarked.

Without thinking, I turned around so the man could see how I had sweated through my shirt. He looked surprised.

"Wow..." he said, "I was going to flirt with you, but that's pretty gross."

It's been five years and we're still in news and still in love. And he still tells me when I'm gross.
