I am a 23 year old female. From June 2007-April 2008 I lived on the Ringling Brothers and Barnum and Bailey Circus train as I was an animal handler for the show. I shared one train car with 13 other men and women from around the world and of all ages and backgrounds. My personal room was 21 square feet. This surprisingly included my bed, a closet, a counter, my laptop, a microwave, a mini fridge, a sink and storage baskets full of my clothes, movies, shoes and pictures. I even had a window where I kept my flower pot. During "train runs" when we would travel from city to city-which occurred every week- I would have to bungee cord everything to the walls so the motion of the train would not knock everything down. I shared one shower, toilet and washer/dryer with 13 people. My rent was $7/week. I no longer live on the train as in April 2008 I left and moved to Nashville. I now work at the Zoo as a giraffe keeper. I am pleased to say I now have an 850 sq foot apartment! What a lovely change!
