    Hungarian debutante meets Navy midshipman

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     Margie caught Greg Williams’ eye the moment he saw her. She was a debutante at the Hungarian Freedom Fighter Foundation charity ball and he was in the Naval Academy. That was in 1986. Twenty-four years later, the couple is married with three children.

A chance encounter as a debutante for the Hungarian Freedom Fighter Foundation charity ball (both her parents left Hungary after the 1956 revolution and met in the US) with a Naval Academy mid in 1986 led to 24+ year marriage, 3 great kids, and multiple moves throughout the US. They met at the formal ball which both had not intended to attend until her parents showed up at her dorm at St Joseph's University in Philly with a dress in hand and requested she get in the car. He did not attend the preparatory formal dance class, but went when his room mate said he should go. From the minute he saw her, he was in love, but had to convince her a bit they should meet again at a formal dance a month later. They dated while attending school in Annapolis and Philly, and after his graduation and commissioning into the USAF in 1988, he went to flight training in CA. She graduated SJU in 1989 and they were married in 1990. They were stationed in various Air Force Bases in TX, OH, NV, CA, FL, VA, and MD, and were apart through many deployments and schools. After 20 years in the military, he transitioned to civilian life and they have settled outside of Pax River NAS, MD where they both work full time. Their oldest attends the Univ or Maryland and the younger kids are finishing high school. Almost 29 years after their chance encounter they are still in love and enjoying this journey called life! Not bad for a girl from Philly and a guy from Florida.
