Kicking off the Oscar event season
The Seventh Annual Valentine Romance Oscar Style Lounge and Party by Doris Bergman has been the traditional kick off for the event season for the Academy Awards. It’s the first of the gifting suites and style lounges.
We’re really not stretching the truth when we say it is an annual event that many in the industry, both performers and press look forward to attending. Having it at a well-known restaurant favorite Fig and Olive is an incentive as the staff goes out of their way to provide service for everyone at the event.
Some of the vendors we have seen at other events what amazes us the most is all of the creative people that show up with things they would like to present to people in the industry. In a sense it’s the first stop in the event season to get things for beauty and health and clothing, three things you either live or die by for the next couple weeks. For those who are still deciding what they’re wearing, you have people to help guide your choices towards either casual or formal wear depending on the event.
We look at the event from 2 different perspectives, one from a male that grew up in the industry for over 80 years and the other from a female that can relate to all the products being an adult candy store. There are things you wish you could get more of.
Favorites abound with highlights including the Hollywood glamour of Sue Wong gowns, the fabulous prints that insure you’re not single of Single dress, fun newcomers Kaya di Koko or the regalness of Samiah fine outerwear, established brands such as anti-aging skincare from a plastic surgeon MD Sun skincare, the luxury of cold pressed Argan oil from Pura D’or, the ease in creating red carpet looks with Whirl-a-style, the blessings of My Saint My Hero jewelry, the timelessness of recycled metal from Twisted Silver jewelry, totally unique finds of sun protection for your dog with My Dog Nose It and candles that smell like gasoline or black tea from Shoppe 815, and my personal favorite is ice cream created in front of you from Nitro Cream.
We consider ourselves lucky that we’re allowed to open the Oscar event season here. It’s a reunion for the industry where people reunite talking to one another talking about the vendors, what’s going on in the industry and of course the Oscars and something you don’t see, they actually do talk and share info with one another.
