All aboard the Delta Queen |
The Delta Queen - Last Original Steam Powered Paddle Boat
Many problems face our country today - but one thing that is not a problem is the fact that America is a country of free choice. This freedom was hard fought and it is protected by each of us.
So how is it that two ordinary men, James Oberstar and Daniel Inouye, with extraordinary power and the threat of the Seafarer's Union swaying their opinion, decide for the entire American population whether or not the Delta Queen can continue sailing our rivers? Where is our freedom of choice in that?
The Delta Queen is a privately owned vessel. Patrons have the right to decide for themselves if they wish to sail on her.
I have never been fortunate enough to get to sail on her, but I have witnessed the annual race between the Delta Queen and the Belle of Louisville. It is a National Historic moment.
Please do all you can to save this National Treasure. There will be no more.
