Armenians of Jerusalem Mark 100th Anniversary of Genocide (Part 1)

This afternoon, April 24th, the Armenians in Jerusalem gathered together and marched through the Jaffa Gate to mark the centennial anniversary of the genocide. During this time, it will be marked with processions, solemn ceremonies and vigils with candlelights.

Last night in the Old City, bells from 18 churches rang 100 times in succession, one toll for each year since the Armenian Genocide, which started on April 24, 1915. Armenian Christians have lived in the Old City of Jerusalem since the 4th century.
