New Ways to Bike to Work

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     ChrisMorrow has covered Bike to Work Week four years in a row, but this year, she decided to take a new spin on it: She tested out an electric bicycle and a hoverboard. The VirtuePedalist is an electric bike that goes up to 30 mph. Morrow said the domed VirtuePedalist reminded her of the car in the “Flintstones.” Plus, she said the dome gave her the added bonus of protecting her from getting sunburn. She interviewed the bike’s inventor, William Mulyadi, in her video.

“My childhood dreams of the future are coming to a reality,” said Morrow. “I love the idea of better options to commute.”

Bike to work is an easy thing to do when living in sunny San Diego. Here are 2 new ways to get around.

Check out my video with IOHAWK and VirtuePedalist. Pedalist inventor William Mulyadi talks about why the VirtuePedalist is the way to go.

“Many drivers would love to leave the car at home and commute by bicycle but often times they were discouraged by inclement weather,” said William Mulyadi. “Virtue Cycles decided to meet them half-way. The Pedalist’s lightweight outer shell is designed to provide protection from wind-chill, sun and heat, and light rain, all while the rider can enjoy recreational cycling, running errands around town and commuting to work.”
