Fears about sexuality in the DES Exposed

Fears about sexuality are tied in with the particular  emotional charge the DES experience has created for everyone involved, whether he or she are the innocent victims or the unwitting vehicle or perpetrator of what is felt to be a destructive force.

The fact that the genitals are the target of the DES hormone, it has provoked some unusual responses that it is felt to point to deeper aspects of the DES trauma, concerning both DES sons and daughters.

The initial report of DES-associated damage did focus more on the female offspring. It was 5 years  before any follow-up studies of the DES-related effects upon the exposed males were reported. Clinical follow-of DES sons is not robust and more is warranted. It
is wondered why researchers did not consider male genital damage sooner than they did and whether the seeming absence of concern had to do with the difficulty of both researchers and victims had in acknowledging potential genital damage in the DES Sons.

A DES son was quoted to say “Why is it so hard to get DES sons to come forward? The fact is that men do not easily talk about genital problems…In our society; the stigma attached to genital problems totally threatens the make identity. If a man in impotent or sterile, he is made  to feel less of a man”.

Both men and women, however, tend to underestimate the impact of genital damage.   As a result, both men and women tend to exhibit greater anxiety in the face of potential danger to their reproductive organs.

Now, in 2015, were are learning so much more on the  experiences of DES sons and need to hear from more of them. Gender identity and transgender effects are now becoming more apparent for the DES exposed!

The DES Tragedy continues……..Do you know if you are a DES Daughter, DES Son or DES Grandchild?
