A DES Son shares his painful Transgender Story!

I am a 52 year old post SRS, male to female. It is believed I was exposed to DES while in utero. I was born in 1961 while my father was serving in the United States Air Force. Growing up I had a bad relationship with my mother because she would always blame me for what happened to her from taking DES while pregnant with me to prevent miscarriage. My mother passed away from cancer.

My brother, who was 4 years younger than me, had issues which I believe was also from DES exposure, it lead to his suicide in 2001.

When I applied for my medical records to further research the massive scars I had in my genital area I found that all my records were destroyed in 1971.

I had many issues growing up; I had suicide thoughts and gender issues at the age of 10. I knew something was wrong but could never figure out what it was. I had a serious surgical scar that went from the distal end of the shaft of the penis going back to the peri-anal area with a parallel scare going across below the shaft of penis. I was told this was just a birth mark by my parents but they for did not want to discuss this issue with me. I grew up with constant testicle pains that no one seemed to be able to figure out the cause of. Needless to say I had a horrid childhood as this nightmare continued on.

At the age of 26, I was diagnosed with an enlarged prostate, and then I developed crystals in the testicles. I believe this was part of my problems for a very long time.

At the age of 46 I could no longer keep control and was committed for suicide attempts. I started HRT a week after being released from the hospital from my last suicide attempt.

At the age of 50 I legally changed my name to Rhonda Lynn and after very bad prostate problems again I sold all valuables I had to pay the expenses to complete my SRS surgery.

Not only did DES exposure destroy my mother’s life it destroyed mine as well and took my brother’s life at an early age.

All because of this little pill my family has suffered and has put me in a living hell! It is sad to see no help for the DES sons, if the effects were so bad on women then why would it not be as bad for the sons?

The DES Tragedy takes many forms but the pain and suffering is great!

    This is my story……Rhondalynn
