The Burdens Our Veterans Face in America 2015

The Iron Mountain, MI VA Hospital have CLOSED their Emergency Room and Intensive Care Unit because they claim only 2% of Veterans use those services. Chuck Lantz is one of those Veterans who will now face more problems getting healthcare after he served this country for 10 years with the US Air Force. He organized a protest across from the local VA hospital last week.

Chuck believes this local VA decision was the wrong choice to make, he claims their numbers do NOT match up with what they are saying.... See for yourself below:

According to the UNEDITED EDIS reports (Iron Mountain, MI VA Hospital) that shows the number patients and their acuity level since January, 2015...
-Level (1) is if someone arrives by ambulance dead.
-Level (2) is the most serious, with 87 since Jan.
Probably 1/3 of our level 3 patients are true emergencies.
-Level (3) There have been 1,391 since Jan.
-Level (4) Urgent Care - 1,470 since Jan.
-Level (5) With just 66 since Jan.
Chuck says, "I totally disagree with VA leadership and there many different reasons for closure that have been reported. These unedited numbers do not equate to the 98 % of the Veterans already using the ER that leadership is reporting are really urgent care acuity level 4 patients."

We talked about his healthcare and the problems he has been facing, we also talked about what this decision means for all other Veterans who may have to go to a non VA hospital for treatment. All of this happening while the suicide rate amongst Vets have risen to 22 per day.. Many don't know where to turn, our Veterans have to fight for everything they deserve.. What is wrong with this picture?

Chuck talked about how he would love to speak to Donald Trump about the problems veterans are continuing to face, he believes Mr Trump is a caring man who would listen to the problems Veterans face today.. Meanwhile, this local hospital is dumping these veterans to local hospitals saying they can't provide the same level of care they once did. This is the same hospital that rebuilt the entire ER Department spending millions in the past few years and all for nothing? More wasteful spending by our Government when that money should be going to help our Veterans!

Michigan Congressman Dan Benishek who once worked at this hospital is now campaigning in their backs, he isn't working for these Veterans anymore.. Instead he is standing by the VA's decision and removing entitlements our Veterans deserve.
