EU Business School 2015 Commencement: 3 Ceremonies, 1 Milestone

Proudly wearing their gowns and with stars in their eyes, EU Business School’s students marched on to be handed their much-deserved diploma. This special time of the year marks a once in a lifetime event, and is the perfect opportunity for students to introduce their families to their friends and instructors.
EU Business School staff and faculty have the pleasure of experiencing the magic of graduation not once, but three times across Europe. First, they celebrated with graduates from Barcelona, then Geneva and finally Munich. The end of the month of June is a time of both introspection and joy. But most importantly, it is the time when young academic minds venture into the unknown world of business and entrepreneurship. It is the aspiration of EU Business school faculty to provide their pupils with the necessary tools to face this challenge and secure a happy and successful future. Tools such as critical thinking and intellectual honesty. One of the parents commented that he would “rather make sure his son is equipped to think for himself, learn from experience and maximize his opportunities, rather than simply be able to regurgitate complex macro-economic formulas”.
“So, what’s next for you?” This question is an obvious conversation starter at a graduation party. It carries a deep meaning that requires the aspiring business men and women to consider their futures. More studying? Join the family business? Go back home or venture abroad? Each students has their own plan, or at least a plan to have a plan sometime soon.
It is clear that students had a wonderful time and were proud to be graduating. After all, the commencement ceremony is a time of celebration! Hence the to-the-point catchphrase EU Business School used for the event: “The Future is in your Hands”.

Across all three ceremonies, the excitement mounted gradually as the rooms filled with attendees. After an opening speech by EU Business School President Dr. Dirk Craen, the floor was given to prestigious guests such as Brian Cookson, the President of the International Cycling Union, and Alain Delamuraz, Vice-President and Head of Marketing at Blancpain. The ceremony got underway on schedule in the three locations, a couple of days apart.
From there on, it was all photos and emotion, as the students stepped up one by one to receive their degrees from the hands of Dr. Craen, followed by the recipients of the Best Undergraduate Thesis, Best Undergraduate GPA, Best Capstone and Best Graduate GPA awards.
EU Business School have documented the event on their blog, supplementing the storytelling with pictures of the ceremony, the speeches and, of course, the party!
