    Photo-bombed by the ISS!

In a farmers field, Bainsville, Ontario, Canada
    by Frederic Hore

While leading a Stargazer's photography workshop near Bainsville, some 80 km west of Montreal, our group was photo-bombed by the International Space Station (ISS) on Saturday, August 8th at 10:25pm EST! It suddenly flew into our view while capturing beautiful Ursa Major - the Big Dipper!

At first I thought it was an early Perseid meteor, the principal metoer shower is on August 12th. Then I realized it was too bright to be one. My second shot confirmed the track and brightness, while another photographer verified it was indeed the station on an ISS tracker website.

Being the brightest object in the sky, even brighter than Jupiter, Saturn, or Venus... it was a beautiful sight!

    For photo hounds: Nikon D700, Nikkor 24-70mm @ 24mm, 30 sec @ f/4, ISO 1600, WB Auto, Manual Mode
