    Singapore's Arab Street

    I recently visited the Sultan Mosque in Singapore on a hot and muggy summer day and took interest in the quaint colorful shops that lined the walking street opposite the mosque. The first shop I came upon was a nice souvenir shop owned by artist Robert Sng. At the time, I had no idea who he was and had never heard of the time honored tradition of making Peranakan beaded slippers.

    After talking to him and his nephew for awhile, I headed out and walked across the street. I thought it would be nice to get a shot of the storefront, especially since it is so colorful and expresses the historical architecture.

    Just before I got my camera out, a lady sat down on the steps and she looked like she should be part of that memory.
