Got all excited when it started, was my first long Moon shoot

27th September 2015 between 22:30 and 23:50, the moon turns red over  Paramaribo Suriname. Nothing better than a blood moon to turn our attention to the sky. Social media is the best indicator that not only Paramaribo but half of the world is watching. Without arguing “La luna de sangre” captures our imagination a lot better than the bleak moon we are so accustomed to. We should be grateful for this blood moon, for it is a unifying event as well. The least we can say is that it made us feel happy and thankful to have been a part of such a magical event. For the ones who prefer a little more drama in their lives… perhaps it was the moon’s subtle gravity demanding that we turn our heads upward to the heavens to contemplate grander notions, giving us an almost literal wake-up call that life is merely a moment in space.
